Brazil
Brazil’s economy has been on the fast lane for a number of years and seems to be one of the big winners in globalisation. Its annual average economic growth is 5 percent. The new strength of the world’s fifth largest economy is based upon commodities, especially oil and agricultural produce. Brazil has already become the world’s biggest exporter of a number of commodities. Low wages, low taxes, political and economic stability create an attractive environment for investment. The index of Morgan Stanley, a US financial company, ranks Brazil the world’s biggest emerging economy far ahead of China, India and Russia in its stock-rating. Brazil’s leading share index Bovespa shows the best development of all share indices. Standard and Poor’s upgraded Brazil’s credit assessment to “first-rate”. The Football World Cup 2014 is expected to give further impetus to Brazil‘s economy. The positive development of the economy has also led to new momentum on the real estate market. |
